Traditional Evaluation Methodologies: The New Corporal Punishment.
Attached below is a piece on the education system. I wrote it because I
feel I face a dichotomy between being graded or ranked, and one where I
would prefer to not be ranked. I would rather participate in a system
where I meet the standard of work, I don't have to enter a competition
of passing or failing, and I am given a reasonable opportunity to
implement feedback and to learn from mistakes (in order to meet the
standard of the diploma). What I deplore of the contemporary education
system is a feeling of arbitrary randomness, where indelible mistakes
can determine progress through a system, one that I don't even want to
participate in. I find the whole thing demoralizing and that it takes
away from my experience of learning.
Anyway, enjoy :)

Letter to Director of CSIS: Letter 13 in the College of Politicians Series
Attached below is a letter addressed to the director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). It makes arguments that politicians are legislating anti-accountability and have practices that decrease public confidence and promote vigilantism.
Enjoy! Thank you :)
The FI report linked below says “NSIRA found that CSIS and Public Safety did not have a system for tracking who received and read specific intelligence products, creating unacceptable gaps in accountability” (NSIRA, 2024).

Follow-up to “Where is the Circle of Care?”
In a follow-up to my essay “Where is the Circle of Care?”, I finally received the information I had been requesting from the New Brunswick public health department (NBPHD).

Where is the Circle of Care?
This piece I wrote for the Master of Health Informatics Program at UofT. It really exemplifies how dysfunctional our governance system is.
Thank you :)
We inherit our systems of sin and woe, and our healthcare system is indeed languishing, in desperate need of someone to 'rally the troops' (Churchill, 1947).

College of Politicians: Letter 12.
Attached below is a letter addressed to Dr. Tam, the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada. In the letter I am advocating for regulation of politicians to protect the public. A big part of the argument is to prevent white supremacy. Their response was that it’s not within their scope.
Thank you :)
Poor political practice perpetuates structural violence. Lee discusses the fatal consequences of structural violence and refers to it as: “… an ongoing, unending but rather accelerating thermonuclear war or genocide perpetrated on the weak, the poor, and the underprivileged every year of every decade, throughout the world” (Lee, 2019, p. 126).

Alarm of Discontinuity of Care.
Attached below is a letter that I addressed to the Medical Officer of Health of Toronto, Dr. Eileen de Villa, regarding the hemorrhaging hours of labour spent processing work that could automated (or deemed obsolete) with a unified, healthcare, operating system. At the hospital I worked at, our code brown meant an internal crisis (such as a hazardous spill), and our healthcare system is in crisis. Read below to learn more.
Thank you :)
The lack of a unified healthcare operating system is an urgent issue facing the healthcare sector. Dr. Tam's recent report, "A Vision to Transform Canada’s Public Health System" (The Chief …, 2021) discusses how, "the national data landscape is fragmented across jurisdictions, governmental organizations, and community-level data owners” (p. 58, para. 2; in my previous letter dated December 6, 2021, I refer to fragmentation as ‘discontinuity of care’).

College of Politicians: letter 11
Attached below is a letter I addressed to Dave Mitchell, who was my union president at the time. The timing was pretty bad as shortly after I sent it he was in the news for allegedly being bribed by his Vice President.
Anyway, enjoy :)
Thank you.
I have a political request.
I have been advocating for the regulation of politicians by way of a college of politicians for a number of years, predominantly in writing via personal correspondence, to a number of different politicians and leaders.

College of Politicians: letter 10.
Attached below is a letter I sent to Dr. Brent, the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer of Manitoba. It’s a short one. I thought I’d write something about promoting trust in vaccination.
Enjoy!
Thank you :)
I would like to advocate for the regulation of politicians to promote public trust in vaccines. One theme certain segments of people in Canada have is distrust of the government (Froese, 2021).

College of Politicians: Letter 9.
This was my only international letter on the subject (at least so far), addressed to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I heard about her and Mr. Singh of the NDP playing a video game for a fundraising event and thought I’d give it a shot.
Anyway, enjoy :)
Thank you :)
I may be able to assist with the lack of accountability in your country. Politicians are responsible for preventable errors that contribute to deaths and languishing health and illness of denizens worldwide.

College of Politicians: Letter 8.
Another letter, this one addressed to the leader of the NDP party, Jagmeet Singh.
Anyway, enjoy :)
I am advocating for a College of Politicians of Canada whose role is to protect the public from politicians. This is similar to how a college of nurses works to protect the public from nurses.

Relationships and the Fundamental Freedom of Association.
This is piece that I had on my okc (online dating) profile for a while. I had some positive feedback on it from people so I figured I'd share it here!
I capitalized the a's because it's quite common for people to assume someone not monogamous is polygamous, and the spelling is similar so I figured I'd capitalize the a to distinguish it more.
Otherwise I think I lean more towards the ENM (ethical non-monogamy) or open terminology nowadays. If I were to add an addendum to the paper, it would be that monogamous relationships can complicate contact tracing (contacting people who may have exposures to sexually transmitted infections, particularly in situations with cheating).
Thank you :)
